Teachers on The Go

"A mobile instruction program administered by Javacya Arts Conservatory"

Mission

Our mission is to provide after school or in-school training, which increase students' knowledge of string instruments, music theory, and test taking skills for standardized music examinations, and develop high caliber, disciplined musicians.

Teachers on The Go

The Teachers On The Go program alleviates the task of administrating simultaneous quality academic and performing arts education in learning institutions or community enrichment programs by delivering music instruction programs at their doorstep. Through Javacya, academic and/or community enrichment programs contract the service of music education, which provides instruction from professional artists inclusive of graduate and post‐graduate students in string performance and music education.

Curriculum

Javacya utilizes the curriculum of the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto, Canada (www.rcm.org) as well its own program developed and established through years of experience.

Standardized Testing

Although optional, it is recommended that all students' enrolled take the international standardized test as offered through the institution. Older students who past the Royal Conservatory exams are likely to score high on Advanced Placement music theory examinations and take more advanced theory upon entering college. Examinations are offered in December and May. There are a total of ten examinations in the curriculum offered by the Royal Conservatory. Javacya is the regional testing center for these examinations. Detail information is provided upon enrollment.

Performances

Students will perform at school functions and give two additional concerts per semester. Piano accompanist may be required for these performances. Accompanist fees and other expenses for live performances may be required. Live performances are strongly encouraged for student development.

Materials

Students are required to furnish their own instruments and purchase books and related materials. Rentals instruments are recommended until the student gains a certain degree of mastery with his or her instrument. There are several local music stores capable of handling instrument rentals or instruments may be purchased through Javacya at a relative cost. A nominal books and materials fee is required at the time of enrollment.

Class Schedule

Students attend classes year‐round.
